Not only is the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center a great place to experience nature, but it’s also a place where your creativity and passion for seeking knowledge can come to life.
Classes and courses that cover a variety of nature-focused topics are hosted at the Nature Center. The goal of these classes is to educate a re-ignite your passion for the great outdoors and creativity.

Conservation Families: Woodworking for Wildlife
Date: February 21, 2020
If you are a fan of watching wildlife at home, then this course is for you! In this class you’ll learn all about projects you can do to encourage local critters to make themselves at home. You’ll even get to try your hand at making a nest box that you get to take home!
Babes in the Woods: Wild Valentines
Date: February 22, 2020
This course is catered to the kiddos. They will discover the things animals in Missouri’s wildlife do to find true love. The course includes stories and interactive play that is sure to keep them engaged and entertained.
Outdoor Skills: Geocaching
Date: February 22, 2020
Enjoy a good scavenger hunt? Want to find an activity for the whole family to take part in? In this course, you’ll learn all about the GPS-driven hunt known as geocaching. You’ll even get to join in on a hunt for caches near the Nature Center to gain experience.
